To all my readers new & old:
One of my bookish resolutions for the New Year is to complete a book tag. Thanks to the lovely Adrianna over at ForLoveandBooks I get to check off this resolution!
Let’s get started~
Author you’ve read the most books from:
Lisi Harrison. Lisi Harrison is the author of The Clique series (21 books) which was my middle school obsession. Granted, some of them are pretty short, but I read them all. I also finished her Alphas series (4 books) and a couple of her Monster High books.
Best Sequel Ever:
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead. The Bloodlines series (sequel to Vampire Academy series) is one of my all-time favorites. The first book is good, but The Golden Lily is where things hit the ground running. We’re given a kick a** plot, characters you can’t help but fall in love with, and one of the sweetest romances in all of fiction.
Currently Reading:
Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. I’ll be rereading this and Lord of Shadows, so I’m fully prepared when Queen of Air and Darkness is out. Stay tuned for my book discussions!
Drink of Choice While Reading:
Always tea 🍵 or water. I aim to drink 3 liters of water a day, so I take any chance I can to stay hydrated.
E-reader or Physical Book?
E-Reader! I feel like everyone else prefers physical books, but I’m in love with my Kindle. It’s so convenient, especially in college, and I love being able to highlight quotes and see popular quotes others’ have highlighted. Once I’m done with a book I can just start a new one right away if it’s in my Kindle library. 📚
Fictional Character You Probably Would Have Actually Dated In High School:
Will Herondale from The Infernal Devices. Funny? ✔ Witty? ✔ Smart? ✔ Bad boy with a good heart and shares my love for books? ✔✔✔
Glad You Gave This Book A Chance:
Six of Crows by Leah Bardugo. SoC and Crooked Kingdom were gifted to me for Christmas. I wasn’t too intrigued because the idea of a heist didn’t appeal to me and I didn’t like the cover (Oops). The book was sitting on my desk for 3 months, and I even let someone else borrow it before I read it. BUT I’m so glad I read it because it’s definitely one of my favorites. The plot was so well-crafted, and the world Leah Bardugo created was so sophisticated. 👌 Absolutely love!
Hidden Gem Book:
Just One Wish by Jannette Rallison. This was a random book I picked up from my library that I ended up LOVING. The plot follows 17-year-old Annika whose little brother has cancer. Her mission is to convince a famous TV star to visit her brother before his next surgery. I’ll tell you right now that this book isn’t very realistic, but it’s such a fun and heartwarming read. Annika is such relatable character who truly loves her little brother.
“Yesterday you asked me what the purpose of life is. I’ve thought about that ever since. I think it’s to do good no matter what life throws at you, to not let the pain turn you bitter. It’s something we have to learn, something we have to make ourselves become.”
Important Moment in your Reading Life:
Starting my book blog! I started my blog December 2017 in the midst of finals week. I didn’t think anything of it. In fact, I thought I would’ve given up by now, but I kept reading and writing during winter break. I love everything about this community!💕
Just Finished:
When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon. Keep an eye out for my full book discussion! 👀
Kinds of Books You Won’t Read:
Predictable Books…which is usually why I don’t enjoy contemporaries…#srrynotsrry
Longest Book You’ve Read:
IDK. It’s probably one of the Cassandra Clare books, but those have large fonts…so IDK
Major book hangover because of:
The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan. This book slayed me. It had such a heart-wrenching cliffhanger. I can’t believe Uncle Rick made us wait an entire year for House of Hades. 💔
Number of Bookcases You Own:
One. Ya girl is a broke college student who can’t afford another bookshelf let alone more books. (jk not really. I just prefer ebooks)
One Book You Have Read Multiple Times:
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead. This book is my go-to airplane read along with its sequel The Indigo Spell. I’ve read it at least 5 times.
Preferred Place To Read:
On a plane ✈ or lying down in bed. I’m able to concentrate really well when I’m reading on a plane, and it’s the best way for me to pass time. When I’m not flying, I love reading on my bed. I usually lay on my side with my Kindle and just continuously click the next page button.
Quote that inspires you/gives you all the feels from a book you’ve read:
“Love is a flame in the dark. A breath of warmth on a winter’s night. A star that guides you home.” – Adrian Ivashkov in The Fiery Heart by Richelle Mead.
Reading Regret:
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia. THIS BOOK WAS SO BAD. It was long, boring, and heading nowhere. I remember just willing myself to finish it because I already spent $12 on the Kindle version.
Series You Started And Need To Finish (all books are out in series):
The Darkest Mind series. I started reading the first book but never finished. I seriously need to get around to finishing this series because 1) it’s my friend’s favorite 2) there’s a movie on the horizon.
Three of your All-Time Favorite Books:
The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan; The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead; Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Unapologetic Fangirl For:
Loving, Healthy Relationships. 💕 I’m so pro healthy relationships that are built on honesty and respect. I don’t care if you think it’s “boring” because a consensual, supportive romance or friendship beats anything else.
Very Excited For This Release More Than All The Others:
Queen of Air and Darkness by Cassandra Clare.
Worst Bookish Habit:
If I’m really lazy and don’t feel like reading, I’ll just google a summary of the book. Laziness at its finest.
X Marks The Spot: Start at the top left of your shelf and pick the 27th book:
The Selection by Kiera Cass. AKA The Bachelor (Dystopian Ver.)
Your latest book purchase:
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. I recently watched the movie starring Keira Knightley and splurged on the book at a local bookstore near my college.
ZZZ-snatcher book (last book that kept you up WAY late):
In 27 Days by HonorInTheRain. This book is actually a Wattpad book. I generally prefer reading books on the Wattpad app on my phone at night, and I spent all night reading this! 100% recommend.
Thanks for reading through the alphabet with me! And thanks Jamie for starting this tag!
I’m tagging Sha from MoonlightPages, Gina from Gina’s Bookshelf, and Xan from TwirlingPages. I can’t wait to read yours! If anyone else decides to do this tag, leave me a link in the comments. ☺
I loved the Bloodlines series! I just loved Adrian the moment he appeared in The Vampire Academy books. Great tag, I might just have to do this tag at some point

Ditto to Beautiful Creatures- ugh! I started that book because Jeremy Irons was cast in the movie adaptation, and that was far from a good enough reason 😐 (I did still see the movie though, because….Jeremy Irons.)

Hmmm, I’ll have to think about it… I read so many contemporaries, but when you ask, nothing comes to mind 😂 I thought that the relationship in The Anatomical Shape of a Heart was great, as well as The Unexpected Everything… I’ll think of more! 😀

What are your favs from other genres? 😍

THAT IS THE HARDEST QUESTION in the world haha.
Hmm, off the top of my mind right now, my favorite contemporaries are all of John Green’s books, all of Morgan Matson’s books, all of Lauren Oliver’s books. Also I LOVED The Color Project and Paula Stokes books. I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios is fantastic as well. Under Rose Tainted Skies, too. I NEED TO STOP SORRY, it’s my favorite genre haha.
My favorite fantasy books: Lauren Oliver’s Delirium series, the ADSOM series, the Mara Dyer series, An Ember in the Ashes…
Magical realism: I loved all the books by Moïra Fowley Doyle as well as The Disappearances by Emily Bain 🙂
