Happy Friday, friends 💕 I hope your week has been well, and congrats for getting past hump day (AKA Wednesday)! Today I’m doing the Book Blogger Confessions tag which the lovely JJ tagged me in.
Which book, most recently, did you not finish?
Liar’s Poker by Michael Lewis. I’m a Finance and Accounting double major, so I was trying to be a smartie. 🤓 This book is about the author’s experience as a bond salesman on Wall Street in the late 1980s. It’s not that I DNF-ed this book…it’s that I got distracted by other more fun books. Oops.
Which book is your guilty pleasure?
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead. I literally have no shame when it comes to promoting this book. It’s one of my absolute favorites. 😍 The writing is direct and simple, but it’s not childish or dumbed down. It’s action-packed and the romance is super healthy, fun, and sweet. What more could you ask for?
Which book do you love to hate?
I swear hating this book is a meme. You can read my rant review here or watch LilyCReads, one of my favorite booktubers, and her rant here.
Which book would you throw into the sea?
The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken. I just finished this, and I’m shook. Nothing happens in this book! NOTHING. Okay, I’m exaggerating, of course, things happen…they drive around in a van for 2/3 of the book. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Book review and discussion will be coming soon!
Which book have you read the most?
The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead. (That’s right. It’s back.)
Which book would you hate to receive as a present?
I generally love all books that are gifted to me. The only time I’ll dislike books as presents are when they’re the really random books someone is very obviously trying to regift. 😑
Which book could you not live without?
Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. The Shadowhunter world has really impacted my reading life. Cassie’s writing, plot, and characters are so amazing. I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
Which book made you angriest?
Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins. This book is seriously SO BAD. There’re no words.
Which book made you cry the most?
Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan. What a cliffhanger. I was so shook after I finished this. Then, Uncle Rick made us wait an entire year for the next book.

WHAT EVEN IS THIS COVER?! It’s so bad. I hate the name of the book, too. Still, something made me pick it up and read it. Good series. Even better sequel series.
You threw The Darkest Minds into the sea *cries* interesting, I’m now intrigued as to why you didn’t like it since I loved it. Having said that I just binge read the trilogy over 2 days sooooo.
The Golden Lily is awesome! And same, I couldn’t live without the Shadowhunter books 🙂

I really wanted to like darkest minds but it felt really redundant? I think it’s one of those books you need to read early in your reading career to enjoy 😕

Yeah I get what you mean, personally I think the story and character development got better in book 2 and 3.

I haven’t read Anna and the French Kiss, but I’ve heard people either love it or hate it.

I can’t live without Shadowhunters either! 😍
And yes that was a horrible cliffhanger that Rick Riordan left but fortunately House of Hades was out by the time I finished Mark of Athena 🙂

“Which book is your guilty pleasure? The Golden Lily by Richelle Mead.” — GIRL ❤ ❤ ❤ I am absolutely a fan of Sydrian. I need to continue the series. I've only read until Indigo Spell and my heart screamed! I love Richelle Mead's writing style.
Also, I hate that edition of VA. Just horrible.

Bloodlines will gone down in history as one of my favorite series~~~ I will definitely say that the series isn’t as great after Indigo Spell (especially in comparison to how intense and well wrapped up the VA series was), but it’s still nice to get some closure with these characters ❤

That’s what I was worried about. It’s the reason why I’m holding back The Fiery Heart and the last two books in the series. 😦
