My Top 5 Favorite TV Shows

If you’re involved in the book community (whether it’s blogging, BookTube, Instagram, or Twitter), you probably love reading. 💕😉 But sometimes…we just want something different. Sometimes we just want to be a couch potato and binge watch a TV show. Here are a couple of my favorites you can add to your watch list!🍿🎬

1. All Things Disney

tumblr_nh7ymdUovD1rlu5lro1_500.gif

Okay, I’m kind of cheating with this first one, but how can I choose just one Disney show? I grew up watching Disney, and I still like to rewatch them as a guilty pleasure. My personal favorites are the Suite Life on Deck, Wizards of Waverly Place, Good Luck Charlie, and Hannah Montana. ✨

2.  Gossip Girlgiphy.gif

This show is so unrealistic and over-the-top, but it’s so fun to watch! There’s so much drama in the show that it gives me excitement for my own life. 😂 My favorite characters are Jenny, Eric, and Blair. 💖

3. How I Met Your Mother

I never expected to like this series, but after one episode, I was hooked! The show is filled with witty humor, fun characters, and a plotline that will tempt you to binge watch all 9 seasons. 😂 The show follows Ted Mosbey, and his group of friends in NYC, as he recounts to his children the events that led him to meet their mother. 😘

4. SuitsEmbarrassedUniqueAndeancondor-size_restricted.gif

Starring the wonderful Meghan Markle 👑 , Suits follows the life of Mike Ross, a talented college dropout who lands a job at a top-tier NYC law firm. The show follows individuals in the law firm as they work on high stakes cases while trying to keep Mike’s secret. 🤐 Every episode is filled with enough drama to keep you on your toes!

5. Fresh Off the Boat 5bc974c1ea94d1b25ad5945c7e88ffecf281caf8_hq.gif

This show is so funny and heartwarming. 💓 I love the characters, the messages, the plot, but most importantly, the representation of Asian American culture in media. Fresh off the Boat follows a Taiwanese-American family who moves from Chinatown, DC to Orlando, Florida. As they strive to achieve the “American Dream”, they must also balance assimilating and preserving their culture. 🇺🇸🇹🇼

(Bonus) Strong Woman Do Bong Soon giphy.gif

I could have an entire list of K-Dramas that I love, but my absolute favorite is definitely Strong Woman Do Bong Soon. 😍 The series follows Do Bong-Soon, a girl who was born with superhuman strength. I love this show because it empowers women, but it also demonstrates that you can be smol and cute but also badass and heroic. 🌟 Whether you want fluffy romance or suspense and action, this show has it all!

Have you watched any of these shows? What are your favorites? Let me know in the comments! 💕

  1. YAAAS to Disney! I loved Suite Life on Deck and Wizards of Waverly Place growing up. Not a fan of HIMYM, but I do love FRIENDS, which is sort-of similar. I also watched a few Fresh of the Boat eps and loved them!!! I FEEL THE ASIAN-NESS AND I LOVE IT! I really need to get back into k-drama too. D:

  2. Girlll. Same. I’m still not over Disney shows and I constantly rewatch them. Especially Hannah Montana. I even got my brother hooked. Have you tried watching Victorious of Nickelodeon? I’m not sure if I’d enjoy the overly dramatic Gossip Girl, but I am crazy excited to start Suits!

    1. Blair is honestly such goals ❤ I think she's really grown a lot in the show too! I used to not like her as much in the earlier seasons, but she slowly became more mature and graceful 🙂 I'm also so glad you started Suits!!

  4. I loooove Gossip Girl. I went through phases on who I hated and loved (first I loved Serena then I hated her and loved Blair and it went back and forth) but ultimately Chuck and Blair wound up on top as favorites xD (how could you not love them?). I also loved Jenny before she went psycho. And I grew up on Disney shows–I think my fave was Wizards of Waverly Place (and then Good Luck Charlie after that) but I also loved the Suite Life shows.

    1. YES!! Jenny in the first season was my absolute fav ❤ I think I started the series liking Serena more, but now I like Blair more haha. I really loved Selena Gomez as Alex in Wizards ^_^ Good Luck Charlie and Suite Life are always on my rewatch list too 😉

  5. I’ve really been meaning to watch Fresh Off the Beat! It may or may not have to do something with the fact that it sounds like Leah on the Offbeat 😂 No okay but really. I just started Brooklyn 99 and this one is next on my list!

  6. Oh yay to Disney, I used to watch these shows and… still do sometimes haha they remind me of so much and they’re so comforting to watch sometimes, as well 🙂 I also really like How I Met Your Mother… well, liked. I will always be disappointed by that ending?! I think it ruined everything haha. And YES to Gossip Girl and all of the drama, I love it hahaha 🙂
    Great post! ❤ ❤

      1. Yes I guess so – still…. I would have liked it to end a different way, especially given that I really liked the mother, too 😛
        Of course!! ❤ ❤

  7. Good Luck Charlie is honestly the most iconic Disney show… at least for me. 😉 I used to rewatch it all the time until they took it off Netflix… lately I’ve been really into Glee and Friends, but I’m hoping to watch Gossip Girl soon. Great post!💞

  8. YASSS for Disney shows. I used to watch Wizards of Waverly Place religiously and also SUITS because no one I know watches this show and I don’t get to fangirl about them at all.

  10. Great article! I am somewhat of a TV Nerd, so I have watched most of the shows you mentioned.

I loved Gossip Girl and How I Met Your Mother. Fresh off the Boat is another favorite of mine. I love Constance Wu (the mom on the show). She’s amazing, so funny!

One of my current favorites is The Goldberg’s on ABC. Seriously, the best, LoL.

  12. I don’t think I have watched enough Disney shows. But now that you have mentioned it, I am totally onboard. Recommend me some?

Oh, I am currently watching Gossip Girl and oh boy, it is totally unrealistic but yes there is so much drama. I am watching season 4 currently and someone told me by mistake that Dan and Blair are going to be a couple and I am not able to digest that fact. I mean why?? My favorites are Blair and Chuck, and yes Jenny too 🙂 And I totally hate Serena. She is always so selfish.

I love How I Met Your Mother. It was one hell of a show. I loved Barney and Robin in that.

I am yet to start watching Suits. It’s on my watching list.

  13. I love Hannah Montana and Good Luck Charlie! They were some of my favorite Disney shows. And I’m currently watching this new Disney show called Andi Mack, which I highly recommend! (It features Disney Channel’s first gay main character!)

I’ve wanted to start Fresh Off the Boat for a while now; I’m glad to see you like it! 😍
