I know what you’re thinking…”Tiffany, Christmas was YESTERDAY!!” I know, I’m sorryyy (but not really). I just couldn’t pass on an opportunity to spread some festive cheer and celebrate the greatest time of year. ⛄🎄🎅 Today, I’m doing The Jingle Bell Book Tag which I spotted over at Kelly’s blog. Let’s begin!
“All I Want For Christmas Is You…” 🌟 What Book Do You Want to See Under the Christmas Tree?
Descendant of the Crane by Joan He. This is a book I’ve been dying to read for the longest time, especially after seeing so many people love and rave about how it broke their hearts. Truthfully, I’d burst into tears of joy to see any book from my Most Highly Anticipated Asian Fantasy Books for 2019 under my Christmas tree. 😂 I’d also love any fluffy contemporary book because those are always a joy to read during the holiday season!
“Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time…” ❄ What Book That You Have Read This Year Have You Enjoyed the Most?
P.S. I Like You by Kasie West. This is by far one of the fluffiest, cheesiest books I’ve read in a long time, and it was honestly the perfect pick-me-up to read in between studying during final exams. 💖 It’s definitely a little predictable, but I enjoyed it all the same. The romance was slow-burning (AKA the best kind), and the storyline was so fun to watch unfold—even the writing was well paced.
“It’s Beginning to look a lot like Christmas…” 🎄 Which Book Has The Most Festive Look to it?
Secret Santa by Sabrina James. I actually read this book in middle school, so it’s one of the first contemporary books I’ve ever read. I remember thinking it was super cute and fluffy, but I know my opinions will probably be different now that I’m older. 🎁 Nevertheless, I still think this is an adorable cover, and I’m thankful for this book because it was part of my own journey towards becoming a reader now.
Elf 🎅 What Book Unleashes Your Inner Child?
Percy Jackson & the Olympians by Rick Riordan. Hands down this book will go down in Tiffany’s Hall of Fame of Favorite Reads. 🌟 I reread the series this year (via audiobook), and it was a trip down memory lane with all my favorite characters. I always get sentimental over these books, and I’ll never get tired of their witty humor, fun personalities, and brave hearts!
The Grinch ⛄ Your Favorite Villain?
Queen Levana from The Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. Queen Levana is probably one of the most developed villains that I’ve read, especially after reading Fairest which is her dedicated novel. ✨ She’s an evil person no doubt, but after learning about her history and upbringing, we get to see how everything unfolded the way it did to cause her to become so cynical and dictator-like.
The Holiday 💞 Name Your Favorite TWO Couples
Sydney and Adrian from the Bloodlines series by Richelle Mead. I’ve talked about this SO MUCH, but Sydney is one of my favorite characters of all-time—I look up to her so much! Her romance with Adrian was incredibly slow-burning, and their relationship is just filled with mutual understanding and support. 😍 This series is one that I will never get tired of rereading (I swear I’ve read it at least 5 times already).
Emma and Julian from The Dark Artifices by Cassandra Clare. I don’t know if this is one of my all-time favorite couples, but I recently finished Queen of Air and Darkness. And, oh my goodness, these two make my heart swell. 💘 Their relationship is just filled with so much raw emotion. Their definition is also the definition of slow-burning, and I can’t get enough of it.
What Book Would You Like to Give as a Present to Your Followers?
The Astonishing Color of After by Emily X.R. Pan. There really aren’t enough words to capture how much I love this book from the wonderful mental illness representation to the colorful depictions of Taiwan. 🕊 This book is easily one my favorite reads this year, and I would honestly shove this book in everyone’s faces. If I could, I would gift this to everyone so they could see for themselves how wonderful of a book it is.
SYDRIAN FOR LIFE ❤ Gaah I miss those two. I remember fangirling more on Adrian Ivashkov than Dmitri Belikov. hahah! I can relate to you on Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Definitely one of my all time favorite series ever. ❤ Too bad the movie franchise sucked. 😦 One of my most anticipated books is Bride Test by Helen Hoang 🙂

YESS 100% Agree! I love Adrian more than Dimitri 🙈I really wish the PJO series had been done well because it honestly could have been as successful as the Harry Potter franchise! Ooo is Bride Test a romance novel?

” I love Adrian more than Dimitri 🙈” — YESSSS!! ❤ I couldn't agree more with what you said. PJO series can compete against HP if only it was done right 😦 Yes, it's a romance novel. A companion sequel to The Kiss Quotient. 🙂

Lovely answers for this tag, Tiffany! ❤ I'm also impatient to read Descendant of the Crane, this book sounds so good! ❤ And yay for mentioning The Astonishing Color, I really fell in love with this book a couple months ago and I'd recommend it A LOT, too, it was too beautiful ❤

Ahh I hope we get blessed and can get ARCs of Descendant of the Crane, but even if we don’t, I’m really excited for when we get to read it! The Astonishing Color of After was definitely my favorite book this year 🙈I’m still too scared to write a review though because I don’t know how to put it all into words! ❤

Oh I get that, writing a review for it was SO complicated for me, too, I just loved it SO much 💖

Any excuse to celebrate Christmas, I say, take it! 😋 Queen Levana would be one of my favorite book villains as well — I remember feeling so emotional when I read The Fairest, because it gave an explanation for Levana’s “evil” actions that we never truly got within the main series. I love reading backstories for supposed villains in books, so The Fairest was a golden book for me. 😊

Yes!! I’m honestly the type of person who listens to Christmas music in the summer 🙈 I feel the same way! I really dislike when villains are super one dimensional and we don’t learn anything else about them rather than they’re evil. Learning about their history and motives gives them so much more depth as a character!

Aww, Tiffany, this post is so cute! I loved reading it.☺️I added P.S. I Like You to my TBR- I faintly remember hearing of it before, and even though it may be cheesy, sometimes a fluffy contemporary is exactly what I need. XD I also think Heroes of Olympus (and the first Percy series) will go down in my hall of fame…it’s just always too sweet and funny and oh, I love those characters too much. The Astonishing Color of After is on my TBR, and has been for a while- I’m looking forward to reading it in 2019!

This comment is VERY late, but I love all your answers! I would’ve died on the spot from happiness if Descendant of the Crane was under my tree, and Kasie West books make me feel SO happy! ❤️ And I totally agree with the PJO series!
