Chain of Gold Giveaway & Cassandra Clare Author Signing

This past Monday, I met one of my favorite authors in person…Cassandra Clare!! πŸ’›πŸ‘‘ For her Chain of Gold book tour, one of her stops was in St. Louis (where I attend uni) so I knew I had to attend. And ASDFGHJKL I had so much fun seeing Cassie in person and meeting other fans.

Author Q&A + Book Signing

Cassandra Clare’s book signing was held by Left Bank Books, an independent book store in St. Louis and one of my personal favorite off-campus locations. 😍 It’s next to one of my favorite restaurants, Mission Taco, and Jeni’s Ice Cream, so I personally consider these three locations as my golden trio and try to visit whenever I need a break from school! 🍦

Libba Bray, the author of The Diviners series, moderated the Q&A, and she was hilariously funny! Alexandra from Twirling Pages has been telling me how much she adores the series so I’ve been meaning to pick it up. ✨ The Q&A covered topics from book publishing advice to themes of secrets, trauma, and love in Cassie’s books. (fun fact: during the edwardian era in london, many people had nipple piercings??)

  2. I’m so happy that you got to meet one of your favorite authors in one of your favorite places! One of my favorite parts about author events is when there’s a discussion/Q&A since you get to learn all sorts of wonderful and random things about the author and their books (and in this case the Edwardian era as well.) I’m so glad that you enjoyed!

    1. Yes!! I completely agree. I think hearing more about the themes and intentions behind writing the book made it so much more fun and exciting to appreciate the Easter eggs in the actual writing. πŸ₯°
