Loveboat, Taipei by Abigail Hing Wen. I’ve fangirled about this book so so much, but it’s honestly because   I love it with my entire heart. 💖🥺The Taiwan setting, the heart-wrenching love triangle, and the super fun and exciting plot make this story easily one of my favorites of all-time! Loveboat, Taipei follows the story of Ever Wong at an educational summer academy in Taipei notoriously known as Loveboat for its lack of adult supervision, beginning a summer filled with friendship, romance, and adventure.

The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid. This is definitely a book I would not have picked up if it weren’t for Book Twitter and the blogging community, but I am so glad that I did because it blew me away. 💚 One of my friends explained that the best way to read this book is to not know anything before diving in, and that was such great advice because I was constantly wow-ed by how fantastic and complex the characters and plot were.  In a way, this book feels both simultaneously life-changing and other-worldly.

American Royals by Katharine McGee. I marathoned this book on my 12-hour flight from Taipei to Los Angeles, and  I became so invested in this story. ✨ I couldn’t sleep or watch any movies until I finished the book, and WOW I was living for every moment. I haven’t heard that many people talk about it, but I love this book so much. It’s Gossip Girl meets royalty, and the entire book is just filled with nonstop action and fun. I’m so ready for the sequel which comes out later this year!

I don’t read books that I would hate. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before by Jenny Han. This series will forever be one of my favorites. I know it’s not blow-your-mind spectacular, but I just adore Lara Jean as a character so much. I really see myself as a combination of her and Margot, and whenever I reread the books, I feel so comforted by the warm family vibes and the sweet romance. Lara Jean inspired my love for baking, and I just have a lot of love in my heart for these books! 💖

Anna K: A Love Story by Jenny Lee. I am always a sucker for an epic love story, and Anna K is exactly that. The book is based on a retelling of the classic Anna Karenina. Once I picked up this book, it was practically impossible to put down. The story immediately immersed me in its opulent wealth, passionate love, and tragic romance. ✨❤️ After finishing the last page, I was literally ~emo~ for a week because I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

Tweet Cute by Emma Lord. This book easily became an instant favorite because it has all the cute fluffiness of enemies-to-lovers, fun family relationships, delicious food descriptions, and classic high school drama. 🥪🍰 The main characters, Pepper and Jack  (i know…SO CUTE RIGHT??) are my faves!! I finished this book super quickly because time stood still while I was reading, and I’m honestly so tempted to reread it soon~

The Last Olympian by Rick Riordan. It wouldn’t be a PJO book tag if I didn’t mention a Percy Jackson book, and of course, my favorite one has to be the finale of the original series. Everything comes together so perfectly in this book, and I honestly fangirl every time I reread it. From Charles and Silena moments to the war strategies to Percy giving up immortality to the underwater kiss(!!), there’s just so much to love in this book. It’s a 5 star read every time. 🌟

Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo. This book is just filled with so many mental twists and turns I know that I would never get bored while reading! 🖤 Kaz’s mastermind plans never fail to impress me in this duology, and if I were stuck on an island *knock on wood* this would keep me well entertained. I’ve been wanting to reread these books for a while and also pick up the original Grisha trilogy for the Netflix series adaptation!

The Gilded Wolves by Roshani Chokshi. I am SO READY to finally pick up this book, and it just so happens to be subtle asian book club’s July book of the month. 💚 I know that this book gets compared a lot to Six of Crows, but honestly, I know that it’s going to be a great read. Many of my friends who have read it have loved it, and I feel confident that it will be a 5 star read once I pick it up!

These Violent Delights by Chloe Gong The publishing gods have blessed me because I HAVE AN ARC!!! AHHHH!!! I’m so so excited to be reading this book because Chloe Gong is one of my internet and author faves from her iconic book trailers to fun personality. I’ll be buddy reading this book in July with some friends, and I can’t wait to fall in love and be transported to 1920s Shanghai. 🌹

With the Fire on High by Elizabeth Avecedo. With the Fire on High was a touching story of family and perseverance, enticing me with delicious food and embracing me with the warmth of motherly love. 🔥 I wasn’t originally planning on reading this book, but hearing Shealea and Fadwa rave about it on Twitter, it immediately sparked my interest. I’m so glad that I gave it the chance because the audiobook easily became one of my favorites last year!

Red, White, & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston. Alex and Henry will go down in history as one of my favorite romances, and this book made me feel all the feels. It was cute, dramatic, heartwarming, sad, funny, and everything in between. ❤️💙 It brought back a lot of emotions from the 2016 Presidential Election, but you can best bet that I was 100% cheering for Claremont 2020 in this book. I promise you that if you pick up this book you won’t be able to put it down because Alex and Henry will melt your heart.

Clockwork Princess by Cassandra Clare. Will Herondale, Tessa Gray, and James Carstairs will forever be my favorites, and the epilogue of this book emotionally wrecks me every. single. time. 😭❤️ I love this trilogy so much, and all the characters are my children. I recently reread this series in order to be prepared for Chain of Gold, and I’m so happy to be reunited with them all.

The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. I am so glad that I listened to everyone and finally picked up this book, but oh my goodness the ending of this(!!) I was left crying at 4AM, and even though I knew what the ending would be…I still wasn’t prepared. This was the first book I read of Madeline Miller, and it certainly won’t be the last.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead. I wouldn’t say that this is an A++ perfect series without fault because there is some problematic content (such as the main romantic relationship being student-teacher), but this series was integral in developing my love for books. ✨ The Vampire Academy series was one of the first books that got me into reading, and I adore the characters, the plot, and the writing with all my heart!

Allegiant (Divergent #3) by Veronica Roth. It’s been a while since anyone talked about the Divergent series so I’m bringing it back!! to rant about!! I had such high hopes for the rest of the series because dystopian was such a popular genre during that time, and the world felt so badass and cool. Then, this disaster of an ending happened. This is my earliest memory of being severely let down by a book. 😭

Bloodlines by Richelle Mead. I talk about this pretty often but the Bloodlines series is arguably my favorite series of all-time(!!) and I have so much love for the characters, especially our two main love interests Sydney Sage and Adrian Ivashkov. Their relationship is just so healthy?? and cute?? and supportive?? 🥺❤️ I adore them so so much, and I always reread these books whenever I’m feeling down!

  1. Ahh I’m so excited about the tv series too!! Totally get what you mean about TATBILB—I think I’m a bit of a Lara Jean/Margot combination as well. Anna K and With the Fire on High are both on my tbr and they sound amazing!! And omg The Gilded Wolves is incredible, I hope you love it. It def has similarities to SoC but I think it stands very firmly on its own.

You mentioned so many wonderful books – I love The Last Olympian (& all of PJO ofc) and Red, White & Royal Blue so so much 💖 And oh my gosh, I feel like The Song of Achilles is the perfect book to mention for the “book you were afraid to reach the end of” prompt because the ending of that book is so heartbreaking 💔

  3. Literally how are all your choices so perfect, Tiffany? To All The Boys will definitely always feel like home–just let me bake cookies and settle down with the Song sisters ❤ I really want to read Loveboat Taipei and Seven Husbands (…I kNOW I should have read that one forever ago I'll get to it someday I swear). And I love books with sibling relationships and have been eyeing Anna K for a while so I guess I have no choice but to read it now. RWRB was definitely hilarious and amazing, and I would absolutely punch Allegiant lmao that book was such a trash dumpster fire we were all let down 😦 The Last Olympian and Crooked Kingdom are definitely well loved masterpieces ❤ I loved reading through this post!
